S3, Google Drive, Dropbox, Backblaze, SFTP, the NAS in your cupboard. They sit in Finder's sidebar and open like any other folder — and Claude can search, tidy and move things across all of them at once. No account, and no server of ours in the middle.
Most apps that unify cloud storage put a service of their own in the middle. That middle is where your files would be readable, where a breach would matter, and where a subscription would come from. AllDrives does not have one.
AllDrives keeps one index spanning every cloud you have connected, so an assistant can answer questions about all of them at once — reading metadata rather than pulling gigabytes.
Granted one drive at a time, and reading is a separate decision from writing. A drive you have not shared is invisible.
Every change an assistant makes records how to reverse it. A write that replaced something keeps what was there.
Assistants can build a whole change set as a dry run and show it to you before a single file moves.
Providers bill for downloads. There is a ceiling per session, so nothing runs up a bill while you are away.
Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and anything else that speaks MCP. AllDrives installs a short guide for it too, so an assistant knows that reading a file means downloading it.
No disk to mount, nothing to sync, no separate app to open. Connect a drive and it is in the sidebar next to iCloud Drive — and everything that reads a folder can read it.

A terabyte costs nothing here until you open something. "Free up space" turns files back into placeholders.
Google and Amazon can read what you keep with them — they hold the keys. For most files that is fine. For tax documents, contracts and client work, it may not be.
An encrypted drive is a folder on a cloud you already use, mounted in Finder as its own drive. Anything you put in it is encrypted on your Mac before it is uploaded. Your provider stores the result and cannot open it — not the contents, and not the names of the files.
In Finder it behaves like any other folder. The encryption happens on the way out and the decryption on the way back, and you never see either.
Lose the passphrase and those files are gone — not recoverable by us, and not by your provider, because nobody else ever has the key. That is exactly what makes it worth having. AllDrives asks you to confirm you have saved it before it will create the drive.
One field across all of them. Finder cannot do this, because Finder does not know they are related.

The app makes exactly one request of its own: a check for a newer version. It carries no identifier, nothing about your drives and nothing about your files. Being straight about the limits — any request reveals an IP address, and this website does use analytics, unlike the app.
What it does not protect against: something already running as you on this Mac could read the Keychain too. No app that reconnects on its own can do better, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
